As the British Swimming Championships grow ever closer we caught up with UK F-Teamer and Olympian Max Litchfield for a quick pool deck interview to find out what he's aiming for, how he's preparing for the big event and the little thing you've always wanted to know about Max!

200 and 400 IM, 200 and 400 freestyle
Target for the meet?
Qualify for World Championships and achieve a PB
Favourite Funky Trunks print?
Crazy Crayon or Stroke Rate
Do you have any superstitions/pre-race rituals?
Nothing superstitious really, just like to stick to the same warm up routine before every race.
Favourite taper time TV series?
This year I'm hung up watching Blindspot.
What food do you eat the night before a big race?
Some sort of pasta dish, chicken or tuna pasta bake is a favourite.
Favourite taper swimming set?
Saturday morning broken swims! Love putting my race together and swimming fast.
Psych up song/playlist?
Depends on my mood but my favourite is 'This Girl' by Kungs vs Cookin' on 3 Burners.
Favourite pool you've ever raced in?
The Rio Olympic Pool.
What do you do to relax during taper?
Sleep, sleep and watch TV.
Who's your Sporting Hero and why do you aspire to them?
Michael Phelps, because he is the greatest Olympian of all time.
If you could race against any swimmer in the world (past or present) who would it be and why?
Ian Thorpe, I grew up in the Thorpe era and he was a huge driving factor in my swimming career. The chance to race him would be a dream come true.
