World Champs 2017 – Who To Watch!

The FINA 2017 World Championships have kicked off this week in Budapest, Hungary and we are excited to cheer on our six Funky Trunks F-Teamers as they compete against the best of the best!

The international stage is no stranger to Australia's Jack McLoughlin, Team GB's Max Litchfield and Slovenia's Richard Nagy, with all having competed at the 2016 Rio Olympics. Jack will be jumping right into the 5km open water swim, being one of the opening events for the competition, which will be followed by the 800m freestyle. Max will be stepping up to the blocks in the 200m IM, later going head to head against fellow F-Teamer Richard in the 400m IM.

Another F-Teamer who is used to an international crowd is New Zealand athlete Daniel Hunter, having competed at the 2016 World SC Championships last year. Daniel is gearing up to race the 50m freestyle late in the competition.

For Aussie F-Teamer Zac Incerti and Irish F-Teamer Brendan Hyland, this will be their debut in a major international meet with both qualifying for two events each. Zac is competing in the 4 x 100m freestyle relay and the 100m backstroke, whilst Brendan will be racing the 100m butterfly and the 4 x 100m medley relay. We will be keeping an eye on these up and coming stars.
