
Ready to Race at World Short Course Champs in Abu Dhabi
The eventful and fast-paced year of 2021 is almost at a close, however the world’s best swimmers are primed for one final hit-out. The 15th FINA World Swimming Championships in Abu Dhabi will take place from December 16-21. World Short Course is always a fast-paced hit of action, and the racing next week at Etihad Arena on Yas Island is set to deliver no different.

US-based Tom Hallock will compete in the UAE, with the sprinter hungry to represent his home country of Switzerland in the 50m Freestyle event. At the recent Swiss Championships Hallock claimed 3 gold and 3 bronze including in his pet event, the 50m Freestyle. With European Championships experience already under his belt, Abu Dhabi presents another great opportunity for Tom to race against the world's best.

Syrian swimmer Ayman Klzie is headed to Abu Dhabi off the back of a very successful Arab Championships. He won 3 silver medals and set two new national records. Ayman represented his country in Tokyo in the 200m Butterfly. He's entered to race in the 50m and 100m Butterfly events in Abu Dhabi.

Irish Olympians Daniel Wiffen and Brendan Hyland are keen to get back on the big international stage after their performances in Tokyo. At the FINA World Cup in Budapest Daniel made his mark becoming Ireland's first SCM 1500m freestyler to swim under 15:00. He'll be racing the 1500m again in Abu Dhabi. Teammate Brendan Hyland will be racing in the 100m Butterfly event.


Dual Olympian Richard Nagy will be representing Slovakia in the 400m IM, the 200m Butterfly and the 400m Freestyle. And new F-Team recruit, Antani Ivanov will be swimming for Bulgaria in the 50m Butterfly.
