Kiwi Kane Joins the F-Team
We are proud to have New Zealand backstroker Kane Follows as one of our newest F-Teamers. Kane has returned to the southern hemisphere after four years of study and racing in the NCAA system at University of Hawaii. The 6'4" Aucklander is a 2 x New Zealand Champion and 2 x NCAA All American and has his sights set on racing internationally with a spot booked on the team racing in Melbourne at the World Short Course Champs in December.
What are your swimming goals this year?
I'm hoping to make it to a final at Short Course World Champs in Melbourne.
How about your swimming goals for the next 5 years?
I'm aiming to make the team for the 2023 World Champs, the 2024 World Champs, and the 2024 Olympic Games.
What motivates you to pursue these goals?
Representing New Zealand and achieving my goal times keeps me motivated.
Do you have any pre-race rituals that you swear by?
To be honest, I am pretty relaxed before a race.

What meal do you love, but can't tell coach Andy McMillian you indulge in every now and then?
Any fast food!
If you could compete anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?
Anywhere in Europe as the pools over there are next level and the way they support swimming is like no other place in the world.
What are your main interests away from training and competing?
Basketball. I actually almost chose basketball over swimming.
Do your parents or siblings share any special sporting talents?
Both of my parents swam for New Zealand
