Ike Swims World Juniors!

The picturesque Mediterranean resort city of Netanya, Israel, hosted the prestigious World Aquatics Junior Swimming Championships from September 4-9. This championship was a thrilling showcase of emerging talent in the pool and Funky Trunks F-Teamer, Ike Martinez was there representing Australia.

In the 800m freestyle, Ike fell short of his expectations but his time of 8:13:17 was not far from his personal best of 08:09. In the 200m butterfly, Ike swam 2:01:20, not far off his 2:00 PB, on the last day of racing.

Ike saved his best for the 200m freestyle relay where the team won a bronze medal. This accomplishment exceeded his initial expectations, and he was excited to play such an important role in the team's success.

Ike is back in training at Rackley Centenary in Brisbane, with the upcoming Queensland States at the end of the year as his next target.
